A Nato Cyber-Defense Centre tem um novo membro — na terça-feira Portugal aderiu à organização.
A Nato Cyber-Defense Centre é um centro multinacional e interdisciplinar no que toca a cibersegurança, e foi fundado em 2008 em Tallin (Estónia).
O Centro alcançou o estatuto de Organização Militar Internacional em 28 de outubro de 2008. É uma Organização Militar Internacional com a missão de melhorar a capacidade, cooperação e partilha de informações de cibersegurança entre todos os membros da NATO e seus parceiros.
“We are facing adversaries who target our common values in cyberspace: freedom, truth, trust,” centre director Merle Maigre said at the ceremony.
“To build resilience we need to come together. That is why I am glad to welcome Portugal as together we are stronger.”
Em 2017, o centro sofreu um ataque informático. A Estónia acusou a Rússia pelo ataque que afetou as redes informáticas da organização.
Portugal é o 21º país a aderir ao Cyber-defense Centre. Outros membros são a Áustria, Bélgica, República Checa, Estónia, Finlândia, França, Alemanha, Grécia, Hungria, Itália, Letónia, Lituânia, Holanda, Polónia, Portugal, Eslováquia Espanha, Suécia, Turquia, Reino Unido e Estados Unidos.
Austrália, Noruega e Japão irão também juntar-se brevemente à organização.

Pedro Tavares is a professional in the field of information security working as an Ethical Hacker/Pentester, Malware Researcher and also a Security Evangelist. He is also a founding member at CSIRT.UBI and Editor-in-Chief of the security computer blog seguranca-informatica.pt.
In recent years he has invested in the field of information security, exploring and analyzing a wide range of topics, such as pentesting (Kali Linux), malware, exploitation, hacking, IoT and security in Active Directory networks. He is also Freelance Writer (Infosec. Resources Institute and Cyber Defense Magazine) and developer of the 0xSI_f33d – a feed that compiles phishing and malware campaigns targeting Portuguese citizens.
